Frequently asked questions.
Are you open everyday?
Yes, we are open seven days a week.
Monday through Friday, we are open from 7am to 7pm.
Saturday and Sunday, we are open from 8am to 7pm.
We never fully close, although our lobby is closed for drop offs and pickups on Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. This allows us to give our undivided attention to boarders on these days.
How do I sign up?
We have links on this website that all take you to our sign up page, which is www.doverrover.portal.gingrapp.com. The website allows you to create a profile for your dog. This pet portal then allows you to request reservations, view invoices, select add-on services, and more! We do require this profile to be created before your dog can visit Han Dover Your Rover.
Can I have a tour?
If you would like to stop by to ask a receptionist questions about our services, you may do so at any time during our open hours! However, if you would like a tour of one of our play yards, please request a tour on our Tour tab. We love all pets, but please do not bring them with you on the tour.
My dog doesn’t like other dogs, can they still play?
We offer individual play for dogs who do not enjoy the presence of other dogs. We have large, private, outdoor kennels where they can get fresh air, use the bathroom, and move around comfortably without having to interact with other animals. We also give our Individual Play dogs their own spot indoors where they can get some air conditioning, nap, and play with any toys they may bring! When our Group Play dogs are inside, Individual Play dogs get rotated into the large play yards so that they can run around with the staff, play in the kiddie pools, or climb around the play equipment. We make sure our Individual Play dogs have just as much fun as our Group Play dogs do!
What do I need to bring for daycare or boarding?
We can provide dogs with everything they need! We have our own blankets, toys, and bowls, and we also offer House Food for $5 per dog per day. However, we highly recommend bringing a ziploc baggy of your dogs own food if they are staying with us, as it is better for their tummies to eat the same food they are used to.
You are also welcome to bring their blankets or toys for overnight stays.
Please keep bowls at home, as we have our own that we sanitize after every meal, and we wouldn’t want to get yours lost in the mix!
My dog came home sleepy and thirsty. What gives?
Daycare can be a very exciting place with more activity than dogs are used to on a normal basis. It is normal for the dogs to take a long nap after coming back home from a visit to daycare. Dogs will also see an increase in thirst, and although they are always provided with fresh water indoor and outdoors, they may still take in more water once they get home. Think of it like humans going to the gym, you will likely drink a ton of water, but you will probably continue that habit the rest of the day.
I am worried about illness, how is it prevented?
We have very strict protocols at Han Dover Your Rover for illness prevention. Our facility is cleaned multiple times a day with Rescue Disinfectant, one of the best cleaners for pet facilities that is effective against many pathogens, including canine cough. All lodging areas are cleaned between dogs, bowls are washed every meal period, play areas are disinfected every day, and more.
If a dog is showing signs of illness, they are removed from play groups and brought into a quarantine area away from other dogs. The facility is then immediately deep cleaned and the dog is sent home. Dogs cannot return to Han Dover Your Rover until they have no symptoms, and have finished medications provided from a vet or have received vet clearance.
The risk of illness is always present in any location that animals enter - whether that be the vet’s office, the dog park, a walk in the neighborhood, a hiking trail, or so on. This is why we require all pets entering our facility to be up-to-date on their bordetella, distemper, and rabies vaccines. For the best protection, we recommend getting the bordetella vaccine at least 72 hours in advance of a visit if your dog is out-of-date or has never received the vaccine before, so it has time to build immunity in their system.
